The Pathway Posterior Lumbar Interbody Fusion (PLIF) device is inserted through two incisions, which are made bilaterally on opposite sides of the posterior spine. Two smaller implants packed with autogenous grafting material are inserted, one on each side, to support the spine. Care must be taken to prevent nerve root damage. |
